The Great River

Turns out I have been using parts of this quote for months, but I have to thank Smallman for showing me where it was from. And what a beautiful speech this is. And how timely for some of us.

We have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour.

Now you must go back and tell the people that this is The Hour.

And there are things to be considered. Where are you living? What are
you doing? What are your relationships? Are you in the right relation?
Where is your water? Know your garden.

It is time to speak your truth: Create your community. Be good to each other.

And do not look outside yourself for the leader: This could be a good time!

There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that
there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold onto the
shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and they will suffer
greatly.

Know the river has its destination.

The elders say we must let go of the shore, and push off into the
river, keep our eyes open, and our head above the water.

See who is in there and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to
take nothing personally. Least of all ourselves. For the moment that
we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word
struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that you do now
must be done in a sacred manner... and in celebration.

We are the ones we've been waiting for...

Ryan, this is worth taking very seriously, more seriously than you probably realize. It's more than an inspiring thought or even a prophecy. It's the call to spiritual awakening.

... this is The Hour.

My teacher and other teachers of awakening are saying the same thing. People are beginning to awaken.

I see this happening. A few years ago, I was one of those holding on to the shore, holding on to my concepts and world. Now I know that all of that is nothing. Truly nothing... Yet the majority of folks will try to hang on, try to protect what they think they know of themselves and the world. You see this on the outside in religion and politics, but at a deeper level its happening in the heart, and every construct that's been erected to protect the ego.

At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally.
Least of all, ourselves.

The little self must "die". We mustn't take "ourselves" personally. There is the true Self at work, the One who is behind all things, causing us to seem to exist! All else is the miracle of manifestation.

What is the second coming of Christ? Theosis. Awakening. Becoming Christs. Surrendering to the river with eyes open.

Jon, always thanks for your comments. Thought-provoking and enlightening!

As I am reading more and more about the contexts that the Gospels were written in, I keep coming across this notion of the New Humanity that Jesus was leading the Way in. That this Son of the New Humanity was to be embodied through his disciples... they were to be the Body of Jesus, King of the Cosmos.

That somehow the second coming of Christ is the New Humanity realizing itself, empowered by the Spirit of Christ, following the Way of the Jewish rabbi-mystic, Jesus of Nazareth.

Okay, well, cheers.

Like Adam = Man
Son of Man = Man II, the Sequel.
