Well There It Is

Unbelievably smart and sad to me...

If this concept isn't cynical enough on its face, consider the fact that a team of Starbucks execs, armed with clipboards, went into the coffee shop across the street from 15th Ave Coffee and Tea, which is the ever-excellent Victrola Coffee, and took copious notes about their whole vibe - essentially trying to steal their culture. I could walk into this "new" expression of Starbucks and point at furnishings here and there, and tell you which independents they stole their ideas from.

"Stealing ideas" is just competition research. Every good, and bad, brand in the world does this very thing. Any company worth their salt should be examining what their competitors are doing well and is being received well by customers in an attempt to maintain, and/or grow their own market share. It's called capitalism, and if you don't like it go somewhere else... Albeit where? I don't know. It's all the "rage" on this planet. Good luck not finding it.
