"Hot as Hades" = "The Bay Area is the Devil's Playground"?
Can you believe it reached 117' yesterday up here?!? We were driving from San Francisco (where it was 102' in the afternoon) to Santa Cruz (where it was 109' when we got there in the early evening). Along the way, the temperatures spanned from 81' (near Millbrae) to 117' (on Highway 17 in the mountains) with an average of 115' (from Menlo Park to Cupertino almost consistently). Wow.

And my mother-in-law tells me that it just hit 122' on their way from San Jose to Santa Cruz. Wow.
unheard of! i hate to say it, but that might be even hotter than it is here in singapore.
yeah, it was about 112 here in the City of Orange - maybe even hotter.
something ironic for you...
it never eaches those types of temps in Florida. Everytime we complain about the heat we see the temps other places.
From my understanding it has never hit 100 degrees in Tampa.
