Extraordinary Rendition: Exporting Torture

An article that a friend sent my way from The New Yorker: "Jane Mayer writes about the use by the United States of 'extraordinary rendition,' the practice of sending terrorism suspects to other countries, where they may be interrogated and tortured on America's behalf."

Anyone have any thoughts after reading this?

ya know, as horrible as this article is, it doesnt surprise me. we are a nation that is looking out for our own good and we will go to any cost to make that happen. whether bush knows about it or not, or cares about it or not, it does not surprise me this stuff is happening.

it will be interesting to see if anything more develops from this. its sad to say, but i bet a lot of people would be in favor of this, even though it seems injust. when it comes down to it, people want to be safe, and for their own lives, they will sign off on anything.
